with regards to Andy...i put wal-mart in as a "middle" option for a reason....they are REASONABLY consistent...there are variations between regions...but these variations are usually found in older wal-marts...or ones who's geography dictate different layouts

Consistency brings comfort to some and speed shopping to most that blaze through stores for one thing and then end up getting nine other things that they did not ever really need.

I like stores that shake things up a bit that way you never know what might be around the corner. That is shopping.

When I know what I want I just order it online have then it is brought to my house. The ultimate convenience who cares if postage is raised I do not have to leave my castle and able to spend more time with family and friends.

I thought this article was very funny and very true. There are many jabs at walmart, whose sanitation varies from Region to Region I believe... and friendliness to the consumer as well. Some slower traffic walmart employees here in the midwest will go out of their way to contact other local walmarts if something is out of stock. Others are snots!! Target actually has a slightly higher quality product than walmart, and their prices aren't as great. PS did you notice the starbucks??
Anyway: I really think this model was well thought out and very true!

Wal-mart?

Man I don't know what Wal-Marts you have been shopping at. These folks are beyond presumptuous these days.

First of all, good luck finding an employee. Wal-mart doesn't even want to hire people to run their registers anymore (I hate self checkout, mainly because so many people are inept at using it, they slow down the whole works. And god forbid that you are buying some glue or alcohol or something, now you have to wait for a snarling employee to check your ID card). They also pressure you into bagging your own items even if you do find a register that has a cashier (Have you noticed the little spinny thingy that holds the bags? You end up loading the cart yourself, very presumptuous indeed). The other employee that you may see is the frightening looking elderly person at the exit who probably cannot even read your receipt.

Secondly Wal-marts are not laid out the same. Sometimes the grocery section is on the left, sometimes its on the right, same goes for the Pharmacy. Oh your goldfish died? This Wal-mart doesn't have fish. I could easily go on.

Cleanliness? I start feeling like I need a shower before I even get in the store. The parking lots are littered with trash and shopping carts (remember, there are no employes present to retrieve the carts, maybe we should start doing it for them). The insides of the store are always in a disarray, the bathrooms have 0.000000025 gallons per minute faucets (that is if the batteries for the IR sensor have been replaces in the last 3 years and you even get any water), and whats that? You wanted soap and paper towels? Now who is being presumptuous?

So, I could go on but I think I have made my point, and AVG just got done with its spyware scan. Thanks for reading and down with Wal-mart!
