I am happy to report that after writing the above comment I revisited the Luminex site, and downloaded the current version of fotofusion. I can now save projects in fotofusion.
This is a relatively new software program and like any new program they are constantly working the bugs out.
They seem to have more fonts now too. Always improving. I can't imagine it getting any better.
I am totally satisfied now!

Great article! I went digi just before New years and have never looked back. I love how I can do pages with this program in moments, or take a little time and really make a WOW page. I have had other digi programs and didn't care for them because you either could not manipulate the page, and had standard templates you just had to settle with, or the program took too much time to learn to navigate.
I do have a word of warning that you may want to pass along to any would be users, and that is the program is not without it's flaws, and custumer support falls short of supportive.
I originally downloaded the program on my Dell laptop, which is an inspiron 700. I can not save a project at all. Yes I can make layouts and save files. but I cannot save a project to open and edit again at a later date. It took several e-mails to try and explain what was happening. I finally downloaded the program on to my other machine and litterally took pictures to explain what was happening, or more to the point what "wasn't happening." They said they would send the problem to the developer and closed the ticket in almost the same key stroke.
I un-installed and re-installed in vain. It took me weeks to "figure out on my own" that when you render a file it saves it to a jpeg. I just have to accept the fact that I cannot save projects for editing later. At least not on my lap top. Fotofusion has let me break the rule and have the program installed on more than one machine because of this problem.
As far as the embellishments, papers and other "store items" you can incorporate kits you may already own in conjunction with the program. Fotofusion is extremely user friendly, you can drag and drop items from scrap kits directly into your project, and there are litterally thousands of free scrap kits out there! I spent well over 100 dollars in store credits before I saw the term "freebie" posted on the website where I post my work.
I am absolutely in love with the program despite it's quirks. I love the program so much I have bought it for both my daughters. It is extremely easy to "gift" and they accept pay pal. My 11 year old grandaughters work looks so professional! I think it was the greatest gift I ever gave.
I will have to agree enhanced is the only way to go unless you are a professional phtographer.
