This was the first Thanksgiving in years that our immediate family has been able to celebrate together (all 3 adult children). Needless to say I was ecstatic of the gathering. Anticipated the celebration for weeks! I shopped, cleaned, prepared their rooms, and cooked with excitement. Our dinner went great, and then the poker playing started and the “eggnog” kicked in. Arguing started over a stupid poker game and escalated into a physical fight (not mentioning names to protect their identities). The fight resulted in me crying, dumping the dog & cats bowl of water on their heads (trying to split up the fight), ripped shirts, bad feelings between family members, and my son’s brand new laptop smashed (that he recently purchased with his stimulus check). With the bad economy, we can't purchase another one. I really want to win a new laptop for my son.
