OS: Windows XP



hi im running xp on 3 machines. we have a broad band internet connection which comes in through the wall into a modem and to a router. attached to the router are the 3 machines. we've ran network setup wizard several times with no luck. we have internet connection on one computer but we've always been able to do this. the other two computers have just had fresh installations of XP SP1 so i reallty don't know whats up. is there any way i can copy the settings of the good computer to the others? any suggestions would be cool

One requirement is that all machines have the same workgroup name. The link below has instructions on modifying the workgroup name.

After making sure that all pc's are in the same workgroup, then you must make sure they are set up to Automatically Receive an IP. They should be set up that way after running the wizard, but just make sure.

Go to Control Panel, open Network Connections, right click on the Connection Icon and click Properties. Now make sure TCP/IP is selected and click Properties button. Make sure "Obtain IP address Automatically" and "Obtain DNS server address Automatically" are selected. You should be good to go. If not then click start, run, type cmd and click ok. Now type this:

ipconfig /all and press enter. Now copy and paste the results back here for us to look at.
