This site may have what you want: http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm
Personally, I don't use that. May I suggest that you download Spybot serch and destroy available here.: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html In addition to finding and deleting scumware, you can make it resident to protect you and it has its own hosts file. To make it resident click on mode, advanced, tools, resident. Check the two boxes available. Then click on Hosts file, click on use host file. Read the documentation provided. Downside: resident consumes about 5 megs of ram, so I guess doing this depends on how much ram is in your machine. I assume you have antivirus and a firewall installed. If you are on DSL or Cable, do not depend on the firewall in XP. |

Another list of bad sites is here:
CWS domains As the name suggests, this one lists CoolWebSearch domains, and includes many of those you've already discovered. |

Peer guardians purpose is not to prevent you getting spyware and adaware while browsing the internet, but to prevent you getting malware and primarily prevent you from being tracked by the government and media publishers while downloading illegal files while using PEER to peer software. As such if you use peerguardian hundreds of safe websites from the government, media publishers and educational establishments that work towards preventing the sharing of files illegaly over the internet.
