MY HP PAVILION IS SLOW WHEN SHUTTING DOWN HELP!

confused1.gif Hi my HP PAVILION A608 is a windows xp home edition and when i turn off my computer it takes about 30sec to shut down how can i prevent this? help appreciated thank you
