OS: Windows XP

I am getting the following ERROR MESSAGE on my Dell Laptop Inspiron 6000 (at Turn On) after DELL Logo & Windows XP Logo appear ...

Against a blue screen ...

STOP: c000007b {Bad Image}
The application or DLL \??\C:\WINDOWS\system32\basesrv.dll is not a valid windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette.

It COMPLETELY freezes at this point ... should I install Installation Diskette? Where will I go from there? Will I lose anything on computer (photos, files, etc.)?

Please help!
Thanks!
~ Tammy
