Hi Guys, could any one tell me how I go about deleting an unallocated partition in Vista. I know I can get into the management screen, but when I right click the Volume I want to delete, Delete , is not on the list. Any ideas Please. |

If it's listed as Unallocated, then it is already deleted. There is no partition there. That is space that is free on the drive that isn't being used for anything right now. You probably noticed that when you right-clicked on it, it had CREATE PARTITION as one of the options that are not grayed out like Delete is...

Ok thanks Fenner. Now if I create a partition on this, will I be able to merge it back with the main primary one after.

No, it will be a stand alone partition, which is a good thing. I would use this to store all your documents, pictures, mp3s, mpgs, etc... That way if Vista takes a dump, those files will be intact and safe.

Fenor Actually after you format this unallocated as NTFS you can take space from this and increase the size of your primary partition. Acronis Disk Director Suite works well for this. |

Thank you Rodney. Much appreciatted. I do however have to go back to Win XP. There are just too many things which do not work with Vista. Even my own ISP PC security programs, are not vista compatable.
