Hi,
I'm still an eternal cave man and have found a problem that I just can't figure out.
I downloaded Belarc Advisor from the Belarc site.
Installed as per their method.
Now it gets interesting.
My default browser is Firefox.
Belarc is opening in IE7.
And it's opening as code.
I thinks it's HTML code, but I'm not sure.
I truly am a newbie and don't have a clue about how to fix this.
Nor do I know of any other programs that do the same as Belarc.
Hope you can help.
Thanks.
J.

Which information do you need Belarc for?

I'd like to do an inventory of the whole pc. Programs, OS, mobo, cpu etc..
I'm slowly but surely going to be replacing everything and wanted to know what all I had.
This was originally somebody else's pc and was given to.
It started life as an emachines.
Thanks.

See if Everest tells you enough, if not Winaudit from my signature will

Download and install Everest Home Edition

Run the programme, click + next to computer then summary

Look on the right for system information

If you temporarily change your default browser to IE7 to run Belarc, it should work. What version of Firefox are you using? Belarc has been working fine in FF for quite some time. Belarc has been having a hard time with IE7 because of the different default permissions. I thought belarc had the issue squared away, though. Let us know how it goes, please.

And you always have Programs>Accessories>System tools>System Information, since apps like Belarc get a lot of their information from System Information.

Everybody-thank you.
Keith, I prefer Belarc but will keep the other 2 available.
Johanna was right. MS can probably mess up anything without too much effort.
Tyger-the info I was looking for wasn't there.
Thanks to all.
