I cleared the cache and deleted the cookies and the histories for both browsers several times. I even connected the modem directly to my computer (bypassing the Netgear router) to no avail. I even turned off ZoneAlarm Security Suite. I can ftp files to the site with no problems. That leaves me with going to a friend's house to see my own site. |

Welcome to Geeks To Go.
More information for troubleshooting please. Can you ping www.galaxywebdesigner.com ? Does it resolve to 208.109.14.115? If so it's not a DNS issue. You said this is your site? Can you telnet on port 80 to www.galaxywebdesigner.com? If so it is not a connection issue... I'm betting either one of those will help you to find the issue. Post answers to these questions please. We should be able to narrow it down for you. This post has been edited by bobmad: Jun 8 2007, 10:33 PM |

This is what I got when I clicked on link given:
"If you are the owner of this web site you have not uploaded (or incorrectly uploaded) your web site. For information on uploading your web site using FTP client software or web design software, click here for FTP Upload Information." Apparently your site is not up that I can see. Or at least not from that link. Ron This post has been edited by Major Payne: Jun 9 2007, 06:09 PM |

Thanks, everyone, for the quick reply. A friend came over and helped and here is what he did. He turned off everything and connected the modem to the computer, which is what I did. The next step he did - that I didn't do - was right-click the network connection, in the task bar tray in the lower right-hand corner, and chose repair. When that was finished, I could see my website, all the files I uploaded in the many different folders (I don't have an index.php up yet which is why you see the 'Website coming soon' message).
Then we put the router (Netgear WGR614v4) back into the mix, and again he right-clicked on the network connection and chose repair. We could no longer get the site to load, so that narrowed it down to the router. He went to the Netgear website and downloaded an update for the router, logged on to the router through the browser, we wrote down all the settings, uploaded the updated software, reset the router, and turned everything back on. Not only did that fix the issue, but my internet connection is a bit faster. My friend thinks we could have reset the router without installing the upgrade and that could have fixed it also. Again, I want to thank you all for the quick reply. |
