Hi elliot5637,
Sorry for the delay in someone getting back to you, gets busy here sometimes.

I need to see a fresh HJT log.
Please detail the problem you are having, including details of alerts or warnings that you are getting.

I'll look over the fresh log and we will get you fixed up there wink.gif

Hi, thanks for the reply. A text bubble came up from the bottom right of my computer saying it had spyware on it and click here to fix it. It came up with a page saying to pay for a spyware program to fix it. I downloaded avg to see what it was and it came up with a anti-spyware program that i hadn't downloaded so I removed it and the bubble stopped coming up. I then downloaded a free scan of Xoftspy SE to make sure it was gone and it came up saying that it had found "MediaCodec Zlob Trojan". After this happened i posted this forum. Here's the Hijackthis log. Cheers

Hi elliot5637
Please download RogueRemover by RubberDucky here.
  1. Double-click rr-free-setup.exe to begin installing the program.
  2. Follow the setup instructions for installation.
  3. Double-click the RogueRemover icon on your desktop.
  4. Once the program runs, select Check for Updates.
  5. When prompted, select Check for Updates.
  6. If prompted again, click Download to receive the latest updates.
  7. When completed, close the update window.
  8. Next, click Scan
  9. If it detects anything, select to remove all objects found.
  10. Close RogueRemover

Download Dr.Web CureIt to the desktop:
ftp://ftp.drweb.com/pub/drweb/cureit/drweb-cureit.exe
  • Doubleclick the drweb-cureit.exe file and Allow to run the express scan
  • This will scan the files currently running in memory and when something is found, click the yes button when it asks you if you want to cure it. This is only a short scan.
  • Once the short scan has finished, mark the drives that you want to scan.
  • Select all drives. A red dot shows which drives have been chosen.
  • Click the green arrow at the right, and the scan will start.
  • Click 'Yes to all' if it asks if you want to cure/move the file.
  • When the scan has finished, in the menu, click file and choose save report list
  • Save the report to your desktop. The report will be called DrWeb.csv
  • Close Dr.Web Cureit.
Please post results and a fresh HJT log.

Allright Elliot,
seems like we removed part of a tool I would like to see run again, so...
Lets install the tool again, run it so I can see the results.
Just allow the tool to install again, replacing the earlier version.

Please download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri) to your Desktop.

Double-click SmitfraudFix.exe
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.

**If the tool fails to launch from the Desktop, please move SmitfraudFix.exe directly to the root of the system drive (usually C:), and launch from there.

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.
http://www.beyondlogic.org/consulting/proc...processutil.htm

Post the results.

Harry

Ok Elliot
Lets run a different scan, this one produces a lot of information so you may need to split the results into 2 posts.

Please download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) and save it to your Desktop.
  • Close all other windows before proceeding.
  • Double-click on dss.exe and follow the prompts.
  • When it has finished, dss will open two Notepads main.txt and extra.txt -- please copy (CTRL+A and then CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V) the contents of main.txt and extra.txt in your next reply.

I'll review those results tonight
