Hi chrisa23!
1. Do you have other email accounts set up that work okay? 2. See this link for Gmail's Outlook setup: http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=13278. The one thing I've noticed that may help is setting the server timeout to 1 minute. To change that setting, open Outlook, click Tools menu, Email Accounts, View or Change, choose the Gmail account, click Change, More Settings, Advanced tab. See right in the middle of that tab is "Server Timeouts". Slide it to the left to shorten the timeout period to 1 minute. Did that help? |

I'll have to do some more research on this issue. I'll post back as quickly as possible. Thanks for your patience.

Sorry for the delay.
Are you saying that you have set up other email accounts and they also get the Network Password prompt? Has Outlook 2003 on this computer ever worked right? If so, what happened between then and now? Is this a home computer or office computer? Is all the email you're trying to setup POP3, or is any of it Exchange? Have you ever added an additional Mail Profile and started over setting up your email accounts? This may be worth a shot. Close Outlook. Click Start, Control Panel, Mail, Show Profiles. On the General tab, click Add to create a new e-email profile. Give the new profile a name, then click next until you get to the Server Type screen. Check your e-mail type. Fill in all your e-mail account settings. When you get back to the General tab, change Outlook's start-up option to "Prompt for a profile to be used". This will ensure you start with the new profile when you re-open Outlook. If you're not prompted, reboot and then open Outlook. You might also try adding a new Windows User Account, then configuring Outlook and your email account. I can provide instructions for this if necessary. |
