Which of the following Anti-Virus programs do you reccomend most?

AntiVir - http://www.free-av.com/
Avast - http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html
AVG - http://free.grisoft.com/
BitDefender - http://www.bitdefender.com
ClamWin - http://www.clamwin.com/

Of those six (or any other anti-virus programs that are free) do you reccomend for the most thorough/effective scan?

Hi. I'm willing to bet that you're going to see a fair number of replies that will encourage the use of AVG and Avast. Both are very well liked. I have tried both, and AVG is probably your best bet. It's simple, and does the job well. AVG is also mentioned in our Malware Cleaning Guide, which makes it seem all that much more encouraging.
