Hi there, I just finished my first website for a client. She seems to love, I do like it but not 100 %. Would like to hear some comments.

Website

Thanks.

The site passes XHTML validation but has one error in the CSS validation.

I would also suggest not embedding the CSS within the document. Part of the reason for using CSS is to slim down the amount of code used. Putting the CSS in EVERY document is not practical.

Other than that it's pretty basic and I guess gets the point across, although I personally find it kind of bland looking (again, just my personal opinion). The fact that there is very little text or anything explaining the site, who it is, etc. makes it look rather like an amateur designed it and won't get the site anywhere in SEO.

You also need to employ meta tags and make the title more descriptive. Anything done for a client should have SEO in mind. If no one can find their site it defeats the purpose of having one.

If this was a first attempt as you say I would say you are at least off to a decent start.

I agree. That's a good start. There is a tinge of blandness, but it looks clean and does the job. Depending slightly on the marketing approach and purpose of the site, you may want to read the link, which is no resource but something I mentioned on another site.

I am no authority nor am great at compliance, but I generally get the job done well.

General Notch? Where's the The Right Wing Patriot site? I get a 404. Like the Civil War site. Good stuff.

Good work. I've got a few of them bookmarked and entered into the RSS sidebar. Are they all your sites? Forgot all about www.BlackFive.net until I found a link upon your site.

You can add myspace cursors to it. www.smfforfree3.com can also make you a cool website for a certain client like WAMP5 or whatever you are using. laughing.gif

The Graphics and layout are very good but it still lacks content so it's not SEO friendly like thenotch said and you will have a hard time getting anywhere in the search pages.

btw, much better than my first site by leaps and bounds!!
