I use Pheonix - AwardBIOS CMOS Setup Utility My Specs: ASUS A7N8X-X MB Athlon Xp 2400 Processor Ultra PC3200 1024 MB RAM Thermaltake PSU 430 Watt 256mb Geforce 6600 AGP What could be the problem? I think this could be a problem with your RAM. Start by running memtest on your machine.

i tried memory test but it won't let me finish the job it just freezes.. i think its a fried motherboard

Do you have any parts from another computer such as memory that you can swap out? How old is the computer?
Inspect your motherboard closely for any signs of damage. When motherboards go a lot of times the capacitors bulge or leak. If you don't see any physical damage to the board I would try some different sticks of RAM in computer. |

The more specific you are the better that myself and other people can help you. Did you get it two days ago from today or from the orginal post. I notice in your first post you said you had 1gb pc3200 RAM. Does this mean you now have 2gb or you bought the only RAM in your system two days prior to your post?
