I have been trying to remove this from my new PC. Just built a new computer and ended up with Adaware.Virtumonde. I installed windows XP using a slipstream disc I made with SP2 to avoid this. I am using Avast and it keeps picking up on trojans. I keep getting Explorer pop ups. I have tried the Trojan Remover, Vundofix, and virtumundobegone. I did everything on the site before posting and came up short. Vundofix I ran 5 times before finally showing nothing in a scan. Avast still detect trojans during pop-ups. I am using Firefox and IE keeps opening up. I have a Dual Core Processor and This computer went from lighting fast to 700Mhz intel slow. I just built this thing on Monday and am having issues already. wacko.gif Please lend a hand. I have done everything I possibly can short of reinstalling windows. I can't go through the process again upset.gif
Any help on this would be appreciated.
*******JUST BEFORE POSTING THIS I GOT A WINDOW ON THE BOTTOM RIGHT FOR ERRORPROTECTOR.COM AND A NEW TAB IN FIREFOX OPENED UP**********

Please download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri) to your Desktop.

Double-click SmitfraudFix.exe
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.

**If the tool fails to launch from the Desktop, please move SmitfraudFix.exe directly to the root of the system drive (usually C:), and launch from there.

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

Lets start there, and please read THIS.

Hey naiso,
Before we go any further, lets see an uninstall list.
Open HijackThis, click Config, click Misc Tools
Click "Open Uninstall Manager"
Click "Save List" (generates uninstall_list.txt)
Click Save, copy and paste the results in your next post.
I need to look at that list before we remove things.

Lets see whats in your hosts file:
  • Click the start button
  • Click on search
  • Select all files and folders
  • In the box all or part of file name copy and paste this "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC" (without the " ")
  • Click on search
  • Right click the folder icon for ect, then click explore
  • Double click the hosts file
  • If a box pops up asking what to open with select notepad
  • Notepad should open with the contents of your hosts file

If the results produced is not to large, copy and paste in your reply.

Harry
