Hi, there, anyone,
I came across this site by sheer accident and desperation. I have totally messed up my computer and I need to restore it to an earlier time, like Tuesday of this week, before I decided to mess around with programs and add-ons that I don't need and/or cannot use. I am a twelve o'clock flasher ,so I'll just put this out there right now.
For starters, I just want to know how I can go back to an earlier, simpler time, before I strayed so far. Is there a patient, kind, sleep-deprived geek out there in the world who will help me??

Hi Blanche. Luckily for you, Windows XP has a "System Restore" feature which can "roll back" to a previous state using a calendar interface from which you select a date that's available (available dates are shown on the calendar in bold). But you can only use that method if Windows is still able to run and you haven't screwed it up so much that it won't start.

Click on Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore
