hello last week i brought this new computer because my crappy alien ware didn't do anything. the computer runs extremely quickly and run most games maxed with no problems. the only problem is that maybe once or twice a day the computer just randomly crashes. i put windows xp 32 bit on the computer as it didnt come with an os. maybe this is the problem?? the only extra items which i added to the computer myself was the soundcard and the tv tuner but i doubt this is causing the crashing. i have instaled the graphics and motherboard drivers along with the sound and tv card drivers. the crashing really is annoying me as i sumtimes wake up to find that the whole night of downloading has been wasted due to a crash. next week im hoping to format my computer and put vista 64 bit on so i can run all of my ram. does anybody have any ideas about the crashing.
thanks
my specs:
4 gb ddr 2 ram
quad core
500gb hd
8500 gt 512
creative xfi 7.1 sound card
easy tv tuner pci card (crap)
asus p5n-e sli motherboard
thermaltake soprano case
20x dvd rw windows xp 32 bit 600 watt psu

Hi jamiej...

Are you running with all 4 gigs of RAM installed? That can cause problems on 32 bit systems. If you are, try removing a stick of RAM and see if the hangs stop.

64 bit systems will run 4 gigs quite nicely...32 bit, not so much.
