Opera and Firefox unable to connect on Windows Vista

Internet Explorer 7 works fine, but neither Opera nor Firefox will connect. I do not use a proxy server, and I have tried placing Opera and Firefox on the exception list on Windows Firewall, but this doesn't seem to solve the problem. Any ideas? Thanks! =)

For Firefox, have you checked Tools>Options>Advanced tab and then Network tab settings? Also, be sure to have a version of FF later than 2.0.0.4 for Vista. Preferably, the latest version 2.0.0.11. I don't use Opera, but I imagine it has similar settings.

Hello and welcome to Geeks to Go!

Could you maybe give us some more information:
Have you been experiencing this issue for a while?
What happens when you try to use Firefox or Opera?
Do you receive any error messages?
Do you have the parental controls feature turned on in Vista?

Thanks,

Ax
