Hello MLC950 and welcome to G2G.
Please download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri) to your Desktop. You should print out these instructions, or copy them to a NotePad file for reading while in Safe Mode, because you will not be able to connect to the Internet to read from this site. Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
Select option #2 - Clean by typing 2 and press "Enter" to delete infected files. You will be prompted : "Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the registry ?"; answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter" in order to remove the Desktop background and clean registry keys associated with the infection. The tool will now check if wininet.dll is infected. You may be prompted to replace the infected file (if found); answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter". The tool may need to restart your computer to finish the cleaning process; if it doesn't, please restart it into Normal Windows. A text file will appear onscreen, with results from the cleaning process; please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply. The report can also be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt Warning : running option #2 on a non infected computer will remove your Desktop background. Please download the OTMoveIt by OldTimer.
*If a file or folder cannot be moved immediately, you may be asked to reboot the machine to finish the move process. If you are asked to reboot the machine, choose Yes. **If a reboot was necessary or you needed to Exit before posting the log, you will find a copy of the log at the root of the drive where OTMoveIt is installed, usually at : C:\_OTMoveIt\MovedFiles\********_******.log (where "********_******" is the "date_time") Click "Exit" to close OTMoveIt. Please re-open HiJackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below. R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://softwarereferral.com/jump.php?wmid=...6Ojg5&lid=2 O2 - BHO: (no name) - {C2DE4340-CB68-450F-90CD-9BE1A26739D7} - (no file) O3 - Toolbar: The emlkdvo - {47906C8A-7A72-45A8-AA59-0CEC20BD3B36} - C:\WINDOWS\emlkdvo.dll (file missing) O21 - SSODL: alxvdvm - {04F06862-AB3D-45AF-9E13-CD114F82D0BE} - C:\WINDOWS\alxvdvm.dll O21 - SSODL: bvtqfvx - {69E4DAB3-E0BF-471C-BE8E-584137AF1538} - C:\WINDOWS\bvtqfvx.dll Now close all windows other than HiJackThis, then click Fix Checked. Close HiJackThis. Your Java is out of date. Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system. Please follow these steps to remove older version of Java components and upgrade the application. Beware it is NOT supported for use in 9x or ME and probably will not install in those systems Ugrading Java:
Let's run an online scanner to make sure nothing else is crawling around. This will clean out all cookies and Temp file, making the Panda Scan a little quicker. Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune. This program is for XP and Windows 2000 only
Under Main choose: Select All Click the Empty Selected button.
Click the Empty Selected button. NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
Click the Empty Selected button. NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt. For Technical Support, double-click the e-mail address located at the bottom of each menu. Panda only works if you are using Internet Explorer. Please go HERE to run Panda's ActiveScan
Rescan using Hijackthis and post those results as well. This post has been edited by racenutalways: Dec 31 2007, 10:34 AM |
