When I try to access the set program access & default I get this message: This operation has been cancelled due to restriction in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator.

Is this supposed to be restricted? How can I contact system adm? Thanks.

Is this a work computer, not your own personal computer? If so, contact the IT department at work and ask them.

Download to your Desktop FixPolicies.exe, a self-extracting ZIP archive from http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/winxp...2184#1192393986

Double-click FixPolicies.exe

Click the "Install" button on the bottom toolbar of the box that will open.

The program will create a new Folder called FixPolicies.

Double-click to Open the new Folder, and then double-click the file within: "Fix_Policies.cmd"

A black box will briefly appear and then close.

See if that helps.....won't do any harm.
