Welcome to GeeksToGo! Tonelle

It' possible Firefox is set to open a blank page in the options menu, hence the "about: blank" in the address bar. Try typing a known web-address into the address bar to check that Firefox works -- something simple like www.google.com

If the Google page comes up then there's nothing wrong with Firefox. You just need to go into the Firefox options and set the home page to something else other than blank. If you have a web page open at that time, easiest thing to do here is set the home page to "use current".
