New Member Posts: 2 OS: XP	Hey there guys. I am at wits end. I have got some pretty nasty trojans. I went through the steps and still couldn't remove them. They just keep popping up again. This is free. AVG free ==================================================== After that Please download ComboFix from Here to your Desktop. Note: In the event you already have Combofix, this is a new version that I need you to download. It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop Close any open browsers. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix. ----------------------------------------------------------- Very Important! Temporarily disable your anti-virus, script blocking and any anti-malware real-time protection before performing a scan. They can interfere with ComboFix or remove some of its embedded files which may cause "unpredictable results". Click on this link* to see a list of programs that should be disabled. The list is not all inclusive. If yours is not listed and you don't know how to disable it, please ask.* ----------------------------------------------------------- Double click on combofix.exe & follow the prompts. When finished, it will produce a report for you. Please post the "C:\ComboFix.txt" along with a new HijackThis log for further review. Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. New Member Posts: 2 OS: XP	Hi there kahdah and thank you very much for your help in this matter and I apologize before hand for the length of time it took me to get back to you. I am a Jr. High school teacher here in Japan and I tried these steps a few times. I followed your steps and downloaded the anti-virus program AVG Free and installed it. I didn't have combo fix so I used your link and saved it to my desktop. I then took your advice and closed all browsers. And then disabled all anti virus and anti malware programs that were running so that they wouldn't interfere with combofix. I then double clicked on combofix.exe and started the program. It pulled up what I thought looked like a dos window and it took quite a bit of time to complete the scan. It said that it was going to finalize by making a log but it never finished. What should I do? Adam P.S. I didn't click on the window, I just started the program and walked away until it was finished. Here is another log file for hijack this if it will help. GeekU Teacher Posts: 9,420 From: Somewhere OS: Windows xp home	That's ok try this instead for now: Please download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) and save it to your Desktop. Close all other windows before proceeding. Double-click on dss.exe and follow the prompts. When it has finished, dss will open two Notepads main.txt and extra.txt -- please copy (CTRL+A and then CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V) the contents of main.txt and extra.txt in your next reply.
