I want to upgrade the ram in a Compaq Presario v2000 laptop to 1gb. According to this site : http://www.laptopmemoryupgrade.com/memory/...2000Memory.html
It uses PC2700 DDR SDRAM SODIMMs

Will it be compatible with DDR2 PC-2 5300 laptop ram??? (i took it out of a HP Pavillion DV6000 laptop)

NO, it will not work. You cannot use DDR2 memory on a computer built to run plain DDR memory.
