Hi!
I'm trying to install Victoria an Empire Under the Sun from a burnt cd. My operative system is Ubuntu.

When trying to open setup.exe with Wine I get:

The installationShield Engine (iKernel.exe) could not be launched (0x80040154)

When trying to open normally I get:

The filename "Setup.exe" indicates that this file is of type "executable". The contents of the file indicate that the file is of type "DOS/Windows executable". If you open this file, the file might present a security risk to your system.

Do not open the file unless you created the file yourself, or received the file from a trusted source. To open the file, rename the file to the correct extension for "DOS/Windows executable", then open the file normally. Alternatively, use the Open With menu to choose a specific application for the file.

Thankful for any help

Howdy:

Why a burnt cd? Where is the original or did you download the game via P2P?

I know this post is a little late but you might want to check the wine support and insure the game that you are trying to install is tested to work with wine you can check at this site http://appdb.winehq.org/
