Need help setting up forum, Need some instructions on what to do with phpbb

I need some hlp setting up a forum for a website.
I downloaded the phpbb free stuff but all it gives me is a bunch of file that come up blank when i open them and no instructions on how to turn them into a forum. So can someone give me some instructions on what i have to do with these to make them into a forum.

You need to start by reading the instructions. Generally you have to upload the files on to your host, then log in via the web to the admin control panel to begin to set up your forum. The instructions will tell you the link you need.
