need an audio device thinger cuz im an utter moron

Ok as said previously, I am an idiot. My friend was cleaning out my computer and deleted my realtek audio device, now I have no sound on my laptop! I tried to download it again from the realtek site but it took 20 minutes to download and then didn't work. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD HELP ME BEFORE I HURT MY POOR LITTLE LAPTOP EVEN MORE!!! sad.gif

Welcome to Geeks2Go! jen123

You need to download the correct driver from the laptop manufacturer's website. This is because most laptops use modified drivers. The one you downloaded is a 'straight' unmodified driver which is probably why it doesn't work.

ok so i did that, i downloaded the audio file for an acer aspire 5600.. but it said the file is invalid or corrupted?
help
