Is this mobo compatible with my other components?

Hi,

I'm looking to replace my motherboard because it was damaged. I'd like to go a step up from what I already have. I spent a lot of hours surfing the net to find my ideal motherboard but it was too expensive, so I think that this motherboard is pretty close to what I want. I'm not completely sure if it's compatible with the other components in my pc. Right now, it has:

I've never heard of the brand, Foxconn. Are they a reliable, sturdy motherboard?

Hi there,

I'm sorry if this post comes a little late, but Foxconn are actually quite a good manufacturer. In terms of motherboards, they are fairly new to marketing their own motherboard, but Foxconn has made motherboards (and parts for motherboards) for other manufacturer's for a long time. For example, looking on my own Gigabyte motherboard, I can see that Foxconn has manufactured the physical USB ports that are stuck on to the motherboard. Foxconn have also manufactured parts for Apple, Dell, and HP, amongst others.

Seeing as socket 939 motherboards are getting past their use-by date, I would be happy to recommend using them. ASUS is also a decent brand.

Thanks for responding and your suggestions. It's good info to know for future reference

I just bought a new mobo. It really is a good thing that I didn't buy either of the mobos that I mentioned above because someone pointed out to me that my present mobo, Biostar TFORCE 6100-939, is a microATX and that an ATX might not fit in my case.

and I also had to buy a graphics card because there isn't an on-board card, but hopefully the graphics will be better than they used to be with a built-in graphics card.
