I decided to go with the intel e6750, and i already have THIS ram sitting in the closet. Here are some links to 2 boards i'm considering. #1 #2 what i'm concerned with is basically the RAM being "plug and play" capable for lack of a better term. I'm unfamiliar with how to determine custom bios settings for ram and that whole process.. so the 2nd board poses some problems in that area i think.. but i'm afraid of sacrificing performance because of laziness. Any suggestions? |

Hi there,
I would go with the first suggestion you have provided. I have a similar board (GA-P35-DS3), and it works very well with the RAM I have - and it would work very well with the RAM to which you have linked. I would not consider the second board to which you have linked at all. If you were considering SLI, then (and only then) would I consider running an Nvidia chipset motherboard. In this case, the latest available is the 780i. Even then, only bother with SLI if you are including two of the latest, high-end graphics cards in your build. I hope this is of some help to you - and please, feel free to ask further questions. Cheers Troy |
