Hi,
on my SONY Vaio, Windows XP, Office 2003, I can't, in normal view (which is what I always use) insert notes: I insert a note (footnote or endnote) and the screen appears, the number is displayed, but then typing just goes right into the main body of the document.
- Also, and don;'t know whether this is related, I can't change the default in the fonts setting.
- AND normal.dot isn't there, attempts to use another one and insert it don't have any effect.
- AND - I reinastalled Office , in fact the computer expert at the unioversity reinstalled it for me using the official university vrsion just in case there was something wrong with mine.
Nothing has worked. Everything else on the Vaio works ok.
(And footnotes work ok on Open office (which I dislike.))

Any ideas? Thanks
