Member Posts: 14 OS: xp	Hello, I'm new here, read alot of info, and still need help My internet explorer won't let me do anything really for a long period of time before encountering an error and shutting down. Also my bank website asked me for credit card info to get access, i didn't give it, obviously. I think something is really wrong here. I've tried virus scans and spyware scans and am still not getting anywhere... I need help. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below. O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AntivirusProtection] C:\Program Files\Antivirus Protection\antivirusprotection.exe /scanstartup Now close all windows other than HiJackThis, then click Fix Checked. Close HiJackThis. Then Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here or Here Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application. Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish. If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version. Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan. The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient. When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results. Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected. When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note) The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM. Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply. Extra Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove,you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts,click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer,please do so immediatly. Finally for now Please download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) and save it to your Desktop. Close all other windows before proceeding. Double-click on dss.exe and follow the prompts. When it has finished, dss will open two Notepads main.txt and extra.txt -- please copy (CTRL+A and then CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V) the contents of main.txt and extra.txt in your next reply. Older versions have vulnerabilities that malicious sites can use to infect your system. Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components and update: Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 6 and save it to your desktop. Scroll down to where it says "Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 6...allows end-users to run Java applications". Click the "Download" button to the right. Read the License Agreement and then check the box that says: "Accept License Agreement". The page will refresh. Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation and save the file to your desktop. Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser. Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel, double-click on Add/Remove Programs and remove all older versions of Java. Check (highlight) any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name. Click the Remove or Change/Remove button. Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions. Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed. Then from your desktop double-click on jre-6u6-windows-i586-p.exe to install the newest version. THEN Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune. This program is for XP and Windows 2000 only Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program. Under Main choose: Select All Click the Empty Selected button. If you use Firefox browser Click Firefox at the top and choose: Select All Click the Empty Selected button. NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt. If you use Opera browser Click Opera at the top and choose: Select All Click the Empty Selected button. NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt. Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program. For Technical Support, double-click the e-mail address located at the bottom of each menu. How is your system running now ?
