Help with Zip File

OS: windows vista



i was helping my friend sort out some uni stuff when by mistake i clicked on one of my compressed files and selected the open with option. i then selected open with word 2003 but realising my mistake clicked cancel but it was too late now when i create a new zip file it opens with word 2003 instead of oppening as a normal folder!!!!! All i want is to change the open with ptions of the zip folder back to defaults. I have looked all over but cant find help can anyone help me please im going crazy!!!!

Hi and welcome to GeeksToGo. I see from your profile that your running Windows Vista. Please go to the Control Panel and open Default Programs.

Select the 2nd option down for "Associate a file type or protocol with a program". It will take a bit to load.

Scroll till you find the application extension in the left hand column. Select and then click on "change program" at the top.

Either go with the "recommneded" program or choose "browse" and select which program you would like to open the zip file.
