I was just at the Newegg site and noticed that some of the ATI 3970 cards specify PCI 2.0 x16.
What do they mean?
Do I need a specific type of mobo to use this spec?
Or is the spec backwards compatible?
Thanks.

pci-e 16x 2.0 has about twice the bandwidth of pci-e x16.

it is backwards compatible.
