I have windows xp pro and my question is: Is there a way to have things that I download go to a certain directory? I know most things that are downloaded go right to drive C and I know the older versions of windows lets you choose where to download or where to install but windows xp doesn't seem to give you a choice. (Not that I can see.) I would like to be able to install to another drive but can't find where I can change it. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

What browser and which version of the browser are you using?
There's browsers like Firefox which have their own way of doing this. And the Options in IE version 6 and 7 are really diffrent. Regards, Olrik |

Unfortunately I cannot find any option on how to change this in IE7.
I did read about a registry tweak that sets the default opened folder when you press the button save. I do know however that Firefox allows this option to be set. Firefox is also a much safer browser then Internet Explorer. A Google Search shows where you can download it. In firefox simply go to Tools -> Options Under the tab "Main" you can change this. When you start the download, you can choose the folder you want to save the file in. If you select this folder consistently, it will set itself as the default download folder.
