One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) has announced that it's XO version will offer the option to dual boot into Windows or Linux, when previously it was just Linux.

In my opinion, I thought it was great that developing third world countries would be introduced to open-source first since it would really encourage creativity. I can see where this is going, though. First Linux, then Linux AND Windows, and after enough time goes by, it will be just Windows. As if Microsoft didn't have their fingers in enough pies as it is. They gotta take open source down another notch.

I also read in the article that the initial launch of the OLPC was not as successful as expected. Maybe they are panicking and doing this to drive up business.

I have conflicting opinions about this. On the one hand, Windows is restricting open source to wide number of people , but on the other hand, if this move does drive up business then that means more laptops in the hands of those who couldn't get it otherwise .

So, what do you think? Good or bad?

I hate to see Micro$oft get involved, too, but that's the power of having a world-wide OS with plenty of software written for it.
