Hi gone,
Welcome to Geeks to Go! I am sage5, and I will be helping you with this problem. Please print these instructions, and have the hard copy handy, to complete the steps below. Please download the following & save to your Desktop: SDFix Deckard's System Scanner Run SDFix: Double click SDFix.exe and it will extract the files to %systemdrive% (Drive that contains the Windows Directory, typically C:\SDFix) Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
Go back to thhe SDFix folder and double click RunThis.bat to restart the script.
When the scan has finished go back to the C:\SDFix folder & open the SophosReport.txt in Notepad. Browse back to this thread & paste the text from that file, as well as Report.txt as your next Reply Cheers, sage5 |

(If a file or folder cannot be moved immediately you may be asked to reboot the machine to finish the move process. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes.) QUESTION: I can see sign of 2 Anti-virus applications on this PC, AVG 7 & Symantec/Norton. You should only ever have 1 of these loaded at any time. I need you to decide which you want to keep, and remove the other. If the Symantec is providing a firewall, you will need to load a new one. You should check out:- Comodo Firewall Pro or Sunbelt Personal Firewall User manuals are available for both: Comodo's manual is built in and accessable from the Help Menu. Sunbelt Manual Here Both are simple to install & free to use. Please install only 1 Run Deckard's System Scanner:
I will need you to copy (CTRL+A and then CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V) the contents of
in your next reply. Cheers, sage5 |
