restore to factory settings without cd

OS: windows xp



ok i have a dell insprion e1505 and i have done this befor with no cds so i know it can be done i just dont remmber how the last time i had adell tech guy but i still had my warntey so when i called today they wanted to charge me so i need some one that can tell me how to do it agian i alrady have all my files on another computer so it is ready i just need to know how please help me

if your question goes as I see, you want just restore your settings in windows as it were, or you want to restore also files and much more(like backup)???
to me, if you want just restore your windows, just use (System restore) that you can find in start ==> all programmes ==> system tools ==> system restore
to be better, use it in safe mode

During the POST screen press <Ctrl> + <F11> to display the PC Restore tool. This will get you to the recovery partition to reinstall windows and factory programs.
