New Hard-Drive Problem

Member Posts: 31 OS: Windows XP	So today I bought a new hard-drive which is 160GB. I took the time to read all of the directions so that the set up would be very easy. To start, I first configured the hard-drive to my computer so that it would be recognizable. Once that was done I am able to insert the windows XP CD to finish the installation. This is where the problem arises, once I put the CD in and try to boot it as the computer starts up, it brings back a message saying: NTLDR is missing press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart. Does anyone know what i could do to fix this problem?

Member 2k Posts: 2,894 OS: win98, xp, winME	Before you can do anything with the hard drive you need to boot the CD. You may have a boot option prompt, usually the F12 key, or you may have to go into BIOS setup to change the boot order to make the CD come before the hard drive. Then the installation CD will boot and you can start the install setup.
