I have this TV: Click Here to See and I want to buy a new HP or Dell desktop but just the tower and also install a wireless card on the back of it, along with a wireless keyboard with a built in mouse like on laptops. Then I could do everything on my TV from the couch because the TV has a VGA port and other ones. Then using the remote I could switch it back to cable tv. Does anyone one see any hardware or technical problems with this idea? |

I have the same setup at my house. I have a tower that has a video card with DVI output. I used a DVI to HDMI cable cause the tv had only HDMI and set it up. The biggest issue I had was the wireless mouse and keyboard. I wasted so much time on less expensive ones and finally found the Bluetooth Microsoft Desktop Optical Elite to be the best. Im talking 40 feet and it still works. The others I had were less than 6 feet for accurate use. So with the right stuff its a great setup.

LCD TV's are virtually identical (some of the resolutions and refresh rates can be different) to the LCD monitors that are for computer usage....the concept is the same so as long as your video card has the ports to connect to the thing all should be well...especially for normal daily use...if you were doing some high end photo/video editing you might reconsider...but even gaming should be fine on a tv like that

Absolutely... I have a 60" DLP and Ill use it for work as well as gaming and I think it works great.
