1st. I need a new PC for my room for schoolwork and I don't really have $1,000 dollars to spend on anything good. 2nd. I do have 3 old Windows PCs in my basement and was wondering if I could use all of these to make me one good computer. 3rd. I am pretty good with computers but not completely good with all the lingo. Thanks SIncerely Yours Truly -Needs Your Help ....and Broke |

It may be possible to make a serviceable machine out of one by taking memory from the others and adding it, but memory is not all interchangeable. Have you booted up the older machines to find the specs and what works? Can you post the models of the older machines?
I've seen new machines with good specs for as little as $400, but I would be leery of the quality of the power supply in cheaper machines. They have the habit of going out after about three years and taking everything else with them. This post has been edited by Tyger: Jul 24 2008, 10:14 AM |
