hi all,

hope there's a feasable solution for my problem:

I have a Maxtor one touch II USB harddrive which has ceased to function.

It's drive letter is now different when the computer boots and when i try to open it i get the message that :

E:\ is not accessible
the file or directory is corrupted and unreadable

i had a look in the Disk Manager and the volume is there and it's status is Healthy(active). however, the capacity/remaining space is incorrect (it says 100%) available.

i have tried it on another computer with the same results.

So, i badly need to recover my data, is it feasable?

thanks in advance.

you could look at a file recovery program.... I have had luck with getdataback....it's by runtimesystems... you can try the software before buying to see if it can find any files to recover.... note you do need to get the proper one for your situation... either ntfs or fat and there may be one for external as well...
