I just thougth I'd say hello before I hit the sack. After 2am. I was referred here by a link in another helpful malware forum under a topic about learning to help others with this growing nuisanse and possible crisis in some cases. I am often having my arms twisted to help another friend get their laptop clean again and have been reading a lot on the web and in books but this forum looks to me to be an exceptional resource. I'll be reading quite a bit tomorrow - in my free time between customers smile.gif I really think I want to learn all I can about this malware and virus stuff so I can help people the best and quickest way possible. I've been looking at a few different forums that do some coaching and I think this one looks like it's got a lot of posts and people with a lot of experience and training. I think I'll stick around a bit if you all don't mind smile.gif Do a bit of reading.

Hey! Welcome to the forum! This site is a great resource for learning some cool stuff. I am amazed at the number of people that don't seem to even run some type of anti-virus/spyware software. Spyware, malware, etc are BAD news, and it's cool that you're trying to help people learn to better protect themselves. See ya around! smile.gif

Thanks for the warm welcomes Mike and ShortGirl2! Yeah it amazes me too how many people don't have anything to protect them. I had a guy tell me about two weeks ago his computer isn't working and his daughter is trying to do some at home school program. I offered to take a look and he had over 900 virus and malware items on his computer!! He's clean now but what a mess hehe. The poor guy has been really struggling with finances and just couldn't afford to pay for getting it fixed. I hooked him up with free antivirus and spyware stuff too. I filled out the application for the Geek U - what a great idea and way to get free training! See ya around!
