PC Slows Down & Internet Explorer Behaves Oddly after infected wit

Hi,
My Pc was affected with AntiVirus2008XP and i removed it manually. I have ran the scan tests and the system clearly shows clean. But the Internet Explorer is behaving oddly. For Ex if i go on any google search and click on any link, it takes me to a different site than taht was mentioned. Sometimes the IE says your not connected to Internet, check your connections.

And when i checked the Taskmanager to see if there are any other processes running, its strange to see that my username is missing in the Process list(this is something new happening, after i removed that virus).

Is there still any malware hidden in my PC. Kindly help me.
