My work computer is infected with with this virus(Trojan horse PSW.Delf.2.AQ) and the antivirus software on the computer will not remove it. Please tell me how to get rid of it!

Hi there

You have both AVG and Norton/Symantec installed. You need to uninstall one of them as having them both running only lowers your protection.
If you remove Norton/Symantec please run this removal tool. http://service1.symantec.com/Support/tsgen...005033108162039

Please go to add or remove programs and uninstall:

Viewpoint Manager (Remove Only)
Viewpoint Media Player

We will begin with ComboFix.exe. Please visit this webpage for download links, and instructions for running the tool:

Please ensure you read this guide carefully and install the Recovery Console first.

The Windows Recovery Console will allow you to boot up into a special recovery (repair) mode. This allows us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware. It is a simple procedure that will only take a few moments of your time.

Once installed, you should see a blue screen prompt that says:

The Recovery Console was successfully installed.

Please continue as follows:

1. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
   
   
2. Click Yes to allow ComboFix to continue scanning for malware.

When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.

Please include the following reports for further review, and so we may continue cleansing the system:

C:\ComboFix.txt
New HijackThis log.

combofix has been running over an hour now and it hasn't even reached step 1 of 41 i think.... should it be taking this long?

Not at all, please exit out of the program.

Try re-running the program again. If it doesn't work let's see if we can run it in safe mode.

ok..... i think i'm going to have to restart because the desktop is frozen.... is this going to mess up the computer?

The tool is constantly worked on and updated to stay safe, but it is powerful - if you installed the Recovery Console I can't say that it will mess up your computer, there is always the possibility though as with any powerful tools (not re-assuring I know lol, but it's the truth.)

Let's do two things. In normal mode:

Click the Windows 'Start' button > Select 'Run' - then copy/paste the following bolded text into the run box & click OK.

"%userprofile%\desktop\combofix.exe" /killall

When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply.

If that does not work please try running it in safemode.

it's working now but it's been on stage four for about 10 minutes now..... this makes me nervous because it's my work computer. i'll post the log as soon as it provides it. should it be stuck on one step for a while?

It can be stuck for a bit, is it still stuck now? If so we are going to take a different approach to this.

it gave me a message also that said the machine already has the recovery console something... it disappeared before i could read it all and then combofix closed

I assume you didn't get ComboFix to run, so do this for me please

Now please close all open windows except HJT and press "Fix checked".

And,

Download avz4.zip from here

• Unzip it to your desktop to a folder named avz4
• Double click on AVZ.exe to run it.
• Run an update by clicking the Auto Update button on the Right of the Log window:
• Click Start to begin the update

Note: If you recieve an error message, chose a different source, then click Start again

• After the update, from the "File" menu, choose "Standard Scripts"
• Put a check next to item 2: Advanced System Investigation
• Click Execute selected scripts
• At the next prompt, click the OK button
• Let the scan run and click "OK" when the completion prompt pops up
• Now Close out of the Standard Scripts window, and exit AVZ
• Navigate to the avz4 folder and locate the folder LOG
• Inside the LOG folder you will find virusinfo_syscheck.htm and virusinfo_syscheck.zip
• Attach virusinfo_syscheck.htm to your next reply, along with a fresh HijackThis log
