Hi, this is my first attempt at assembling a PC. I was wondering if this list has any problems with it, such as incompatible components and other factors that would get in the way of it running smoothly. Also, would I need more fans or better cooling components? Also, do I need to buy any additional wires on top of these components? Thanks in advance.

Also, I'm not really concerned with cutting down the price significantly, unless something I listed is way over-priced.

Any particular reason for using tigerdirect.com? Your profile lists you as living in the United States, so you should really check out newegg.com. They have much better pricing and selection. For the price of the EOL (end-of-life - no longer manufactured) 8800GTX at tigerdirect.com, you could be getting a top-of-the-line GTX 280 at newegg.com, which will give twice the performance.

Aside from that, a few other suggestions:

You are going to want a better power supply. While Thermaltake ToughPower PSUs are pretty good, their PurePower PSUs are of much lower quality. Also, 500W is cutting it pretty close. I would look at a strong 750W+ PSU if you are planning on using SLI in the future (and if not, why are you getting an NVIDIA chipset?).

If you will be overclocking, I suggest getting a better aftermarket heatsink/fan for the CPU. The Xigmatek HDT-S1283 is a very good choice. If you won't be overclocking, get the retail version of the Q6600 and use the stock heatsink/fan.

Also, this WD 640GB hard drive performs better than the one you've selected. Unless you really need the extra 110GB, I'd go with this one.

The reason I mainly looked at TigerDirect was because I wanted to pay as little as possible for shipping as I could. However, I did find some parts on newegg that I couldn't exactly pinpoint on TigerDirect, so thanks for the suggestion. I took your advice and updated my list. I replaced the video card, hard drive and PSU. I also added the heat sink. With these changes, would you suggest going ahead and purchasing the parts? Again, I really appreciate this.

I would suggest a different RAM, your motherboard can only support DDR2 and the RAM you selected is DDR3. This Mushkin RAM is the cheapest one but also a good brand. I'm not sure if you wanted 4GB so I only selected a 2GB kit.

I would suggest this Corsair power supply as its a good quality but much cheaper. There's also these Silverstone modular power supplies: 750W and 850W.

I also suggest this DVD writer: Pioneer 20x.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've revised the list again. Are there any more parts that I should replace, or would it be a good decision to go ahead and purchase them now?
