I'd go with option 1. I have very close to option 2 and the 750i Mobo is good it just has a video corruption error, which apparently is fixed with the latest bios...knock on wood. But From what I hear the intel mobo and the ati gfx card will get you better performance with less hassle.
Also that monitor choice is expensive, I just got a new samsung 20" for $200 from circuit city, and I feel that is more than enough. You might want to get the e8400 and save yourself some $$$ and then overclock and but a CPU cooler. P.S. Check to make sure you dont get charged sales tax from Tigerdirect because I do where i live. P.S.S. Does anyone know what happened to the $30-40 blu-ray drive and cd/dvd burners that used to be on Newegg? This post has been edited by Primevi1: Sep 8 2008, 01:28 PM |

Option 1 but I should point out nvidia cards will work just fine with it, dual vid cards are not usually practical and just because a board is crossfire capable doesn't mean you have to use ATI cards with it, I have an 8800gt in my p45 board and it runs just fine so you don't need to worry on that front I know some people worry about that so if it can save you money or offer better performance an Nvidia card will work for you.
Might be worth getting a q6600 it was a cheaper option for me and performance wise nothing has touched it yet and its yet to see 100% usage on even a single core and ive run it through a few high end games. It also overclocks brilliantly and for the price it was unbeatable and the extra cores give it better future proofing and multi-tasking, I can extract a 10 gig rar archive, watch tv on media center and play a game all at the same time without a slow on the quad core its amazing. $30-40 for a blu-ray sounds like a mistake, the cheapest readers would be well over $100 based on the prices I am seeing here. |
