Keylogger Question, How to know if there is a keylogger on my computer

I am wondering if it is possible for someone to either send something like a jpg file through a program like Skype, with a keylogger or something of the sort embedded in it without knowing. A friend of mine and I converse using Skype and a third person that we chat with seems to always know things we discuss, and I am aware that this person gained access to another person's Ebay account, email, etc. After a little research, I read a bit about keyloggers. Is it possible that she can send us files with a keylogger in it and it sends our strokes back to her computer? We are both concerned about this, and the security of our accounts, (ebay, paypal, etc). Is there something else she could be using and if so, (whether it be a keylogger or anything else), how do we each find out if there is one and get rid of it?

Sorry for my lack of terminology... I really do not know much about this stuff, and don't know what to ask. rolleyes1.gif

Thanks,
L.

Have you been to the self help section?

You need to go there before you come here.

If you read the thread there you will see step by step instructions to help fix your problem.

After that if your machine still has problems you can come back here with your HijackThis log.

The link below will take you there.
