I would appreciate any assistance you could provide. My log appears below, but I'm first offering a description of the problem. I seem to have been infected by something that first manifested by fake popup warning windows that look like Windows Defender messages coming up and trying to get me to go to some link to get help. When I tried to Control-Alt-Delete to safely close the window, I got a message saying "Task Manager has been disabled by your administrator.

I then went to Yahoo to search on the phrase and clicked on a result at support.microsoft.com; but the infection apparently caused my browser to redirect me to some page on kmsciences.com. I think another domain, antispyware-review.biz was also somehow involved, as it appears in my history.

Anyhow... I ran my CA Anti-Spyware, CA Antivirus, Adaware, and HijackThis. CA Anti-Spyware detected and quarantined 103 infected files, with infections including multiple items with each of the following infection types: Adware, Hijacker, Trojan, Downloader, Password Capture, Browser Helper Object, RAT (that one's completely new to me... showed "Kryptonic Ghost Command"). It seems like I had the whole gamut of problems.

AdAware, meanwhile, showed and cleaned infections with types of "Golden Palace Casino" and "TIB Browser" (along with the typical MRU and tracking cookie stuff).

My first run of HijackThis showed a couple of unfamiliar items that I selected and tried to let it fix (sorry, didn't properly note the name). And MSConfig showed something called twhiryda.exe in startup, which I unchecked.

Also, when I had along the way restarted the PC, it showed something called Futsfyxo..exe running, which I was unable to find anything about online. But this did not recur.

After doing all of the above, I can use Task Manager as normal and have not seen any additional popups or redirects. My windows/system32 directory does show four suspicious-looking files that were created today: twhiryda.exe, bdn.com, thun32.dll, and thun.dll. None are showing up in any additional scans for spyware or viruses, though, so I don't know what the deal is with them.

Anyhow... sorry about that long description. Here, now, is the hijackthis log from a machine running XP Pro w/ SP3:
