A worm forced me to do a full reformat. After installation, I can't get the appropriate screen resolution for my widescreen laptop. My original setting was 1440x990, now my highest available resolution is 1024x768. Any ideas? Also, during installation, I never received the "Enter product key" screen where you enter the unique installation key from the back of the box. Any ideas on that? Thanks. EDIT - Ok, did some research and it looks like I'll need to update my video card drivers. If anyone thinks that isn't the issue, just reply here... Some installation disks don't require that you enter a product key, the sticker just confirms in Microsoft's records that you have a legitimate installation.
You just need to reinstall your drivers. Go to the computer maker's download page, enter your model or product number and download and install all the drivers, and any other software, relevant to your machine. |
