Windows live messenger virus/worm [RESOLVED], it keeps sending to evry1 ithout me knowing it

New Member Posts: 6 OS: Windows XP SP3	hi all.i'm new to this place to post a problem which have been bugging me since this afternoon my sis downloaded a virus file send by her friend which is in a format of a .rar file and have the description "check my pictures etc".i'm aware of this virus but my sis is completely new to the internet world so she downloaded it and now my messenger is scrwed up.it keep sending to same virus to my contacts i;ve runned my anti virus scanner but the virus cant be detected.any solutions here? my HijackThis log is ready

Global Moderator Posts: 9,544 From: Darkest Cornwall OS: Vista Ultimate	Hi there could you post the log plus two other scans FIRST Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here or Here Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application. Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish. If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version. Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan. The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient. When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results. Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected. When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note) The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM. Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply. Extra Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove,you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts,click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer,please do so immediatly. SECOND Re-run Hijackthis for a new log FINALLY FOR NOW To ensure that I get all the information this log will need to be attached (instructions at the end) if it is to large to attach then upload to Mediafire and post the sharing link. Download OTScanit to your Desktop and double-click on it to extract the files. It will create a folder named OTScanIt on your desktop. Close ALL OTHER PROGRAMS. Open the OTScanit folder and double-click on OTScanit.exe to start the program. Check the box that says Scan All User Accounts Check the Radio button for Rootkit check YES Check the Radio buttons for Files/Folders Created Within 90 Days and Files/Folders Modified Within 90 Days Under Additional Scans check the following: Reg - BotCheck File - Additional Folder Scans File - Purity Scan Now click the Run Scan button on the toolbar. Let it run unhindered until it finishes. When the scan is complete Notepad will open with the report file loaded in it. Click the Format menu and make sure that Wordwrap is not checked. If it is then click on it to uncheck it. Please attach the log in your next post. To attach a file, do the following: Click Add Reply Under the reply panel is the Attachments Panel Browse for the attachment file you want to upload, then click the green Upload button Once it has uploaded, click the Manage Current Attachments drop down box Click on to insert the attachment into your post Logs required : MBAM, Hijackthis and OTScanit

New Member Posts: 6 OS: Windows XP SP3	sry for the late reply OTScanIt report DrWeb report my comp is ok with the virus in but once i signed in to WLM it keeps sending the same virus to all my contacts without my concern.it does no harm if the other side doesn't accept it but its going to be vry annoying. after i ran the fix u provide me and the scanner i guess the sending had decreased but i'm nt sure wheter the virus is 100% gone yet

It will remove all the programmes we have used plus itself. MBAM can be uninstalled via control panel add/remove along with ERUNT. But they may be useful tools to keep We will now confirm that your hidden files are set to that, as some of the tools I use will change that Click Start. Open My Computer. Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options. Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Do not show hidden files and folders. Click Yes to confirm. Click OK. Please download JavaRa to your desktop and unzip it to its own folder Run JavaRa.exe, pick the language of your choice and click Select. Then click Remove Older Versions. Accept any prompts. XP Now to get you off to a good start we will clean your restore points so that all the bad stuff is gone for good. Then if you need to restore at some stage you will be clean. There are several ways to reset your restore points, but this is my method: Select Start > All Programs > Accessories > System tools > System Restore.
